YES the computer system itself had some kind of corruption, but the hard drive was safe so I could salvage all my data, so that was a relief. TY FOR TELLING ME ABOUT IT I can safely dump things into OneDrive and be more mindful about backing up in the future...

COMRADES IN DEALING WITH TECHNOLOGY TROUBLES...I think it's probably due for a funeral since the hard drive was taken out and re-installing the system is pretty cumbersome, but there's another laptop lying around which is fairly unused and runs pretty efficiently (other than me having to get used to Windows 8 |D), so I think I should be good to go from now. I hope technology troubles won't come knocking on your door anytime soon, too.

W8 took me a a while to get used to, then W8.1 took a bit as well, but they are not that bad, once you realize that aesthetically, it still has the W7/Vista charm on the desktop. (thou i hate that i have to go into a full screen to adjust my options sometimes, i just had any thing that takes up a whole screen.)

I hope I'll get used to it soon...! YEAH THAT...it takes up so much space, I wish they'd kept it to pop-up windows since those are much more compact.

I like the usage of compact windows just so i can do multiple things at once, like Skype, steam, generic stuff like that. and STILL be able to see when someone sends me a message, or just ot switch between them fast enough,

THAT EXACTLY you can see everything at once rather than spending a while on a screen and coming back to seeing a notification and wondering if you've overlooked it for too long...

Thankfully, for the most part, you can still download all these applications for the desktop (which i ended up doing), so at least you can uninstall and never use most of the windows 8 features!

Window sure knows how to do an update, making us want to go back to before they updated, ha. Thank you, I shall go forth and get most of my other things set up!
